pilot project.

PRIDE
launched at the Snibston Discovery Park. The area
covered was to be North West Leicestershire. This
was part of the North West Leicestershire District
Council area.
June 1994
PRIDE
becomes a registered charity.
September 1997
PRIDE
expands into Charnwood Borough Council and the
covered area is changed to West Leicestershire.
June 1998
PRIDE
is awarded 2 year funding by the National Lottery
Charities Board (NLCB) for the part time employment
of a co-ordinator and to expand into the Hinckley
& Bosworth Borough Council area.
December 1998
PRIDE
celebrates 5th anniversary and the 500th PRIDE
alarm installation.
January 1999
The PRIDE
user visiting service commenced.
January 2000
A new bid is submitted to the NLCB for the continued
employment of a part time co-ordinator and funding
for PRIDE
alarms for vulnerable elderly people.
April 2000
1,000th PRIDE
alarm installed.
April 2000
Special meeting of the PRIDE
management committee decides to offer the co-ordinator
a new 13 week contract which is to run after the
present one is terminated on 31st May 2000 (End
of NLCB funding).
July 2000
PRIDE
not successful in bid from NLCB.
September 2000
PRIDE
web site launched.
November 2000
PRIDE
awarded £64,641 by NLCB for 3 year funding
commencing 01/01/2001.
January 2001
PRIDE expands to cover Leicestershire and South
Derbyshire.
April 2001
Launch of redesigned web site.
November 2003
PRIDE
visited by minister of state for crime reduction,
policing and community safety, Hazel Blears.
November 2003
2000th PRIDE
user receives PRIDE
alarm.
December 2003
10 year anniversary held at the Snibston Discovery
Park.

Community Fund funding ends.
April 2005
PRIDE
relinquishes its charitable status and becomes
a subgroup of Victim Support Leicestershire &
Rutland.
September 2008
The PRIDE team were presented to
Her Royal Highness Princess Anne at the Victim Support offices in
Leicester.
October 2008
PRIDE wins the team award
at the National Justice Awards for the “outstanding achievement in caring
